The summit of the Hochkönig with its 2,941 meters height is the highest peak in the Berchtesgaden Alps. The Matrashaus on the high royal summit is therefore also the highest mountain hut in our mountains. Popular destinations for mountaineers and hikers in Berchtesgaden are also the southern mountains of the Chiemgau Alps: The high-rise massif with the Reichenhaller Haus and the Zwieselalm and the Sunday shorn.
