Kapha Dosha Balancing Ayurveda Mandala Poster

Ayurveda is a 5,000 year old Indian science of life. It offers a body of wisdom designed to help people stay vital while realizing their full human potential. Ayurveda describes three fundamental energies that govern our inner and outer environments: movement, transformation, and structure. These bodily bio-elements or "doshas" (in Sanskrit, Vata [Wind], Pitta [Fire], and Kapha [Earth]) are responsible for the characteristics of our mind and body. An important goal of Ayurveda is to identify a person’s ideal state of balance, determine where they are out of balance, and offer interventions using diet, herbs, aromatherapy, chromotherapy (color), massage treatments, music, and meditation to reestablish balance. Meditating on particular colors can help achieve or maintain balance. Kapha dosha represents Earth energies and therefore needs the stimulation of bright, hot colors--reds, oranges, yellows--to maintain balance. Using this personal-size mandala as a focus of your meditation or other spiritual practices can help bring balance to a Kapha individual. A tiny yin yang symbol is at the very center of the mandala as a reminder to keep balance at the center of your life.
