2026 Eclipse

Another eclipse is around the corner for 2026. The Moon shines because its surface reflects sunlight. It doesn't have any light of its own. During a total lunar eclipse, the Earth moves between the Sun and the Moon and blocks the Moon's light supply. When this happens, the surface of the Moon takes on a reddish glow instead of being totally dark. This is sometimes called blood moon. Have fun celebrating it with a variety of eclipse watching gear.
