International day of UN Peacekeepers

International day of UN Peacekeepers: 29 May is set aside to strengthen the ideals of peace supporting prevention of violence and abuses, as well as cease-fires with aim of building long lasting peace. The day also recognizes the service and sacrifice of the people who have served as peacekeepers.
