Keith Scottish Clan's Caskieben / Dunnottar

It began as a palisaded tower castle built in the 12th century by the Garviach family during the Norman expansion into Scotland. Dunnottar Castle was a medieval fortress that was chosen as the hiding place of Scotland’s crown jewels when Oliver Cromwell invaded. Located in northeastern Scotland, south of Stonehaven, it the property of the Keith clan from the 14th century, and the seat of the Earl Marischal,The last Earl forfeited his titles by taking part in the Jacobite rebellion of 1715.
