Marko Pernhart

Marko Pernhart (also Marko Pernat , Markus Pernhart ), the first Slovenian realistic landscape painter, (born July 28, 1824, in Untermieger (or according to the Slovenian Biographical Lexicon in Obermieger, today part of the market town of Ebenthal); died on March 30, 1871, in Klagenfurt; with his name also written: Pernat or Pernath) was a Carinthian Slovenian / Austrian painter of romantic landscape impressions, considered to have been a pioneer in this style in Austria. According to the Slovenian Biographical Lexicon, he is considered to be the first Slovenian realistic landscape painter.
