Ombre Clouds | Wrapping Paper

Each cloud in our reinterpretation of this Japanese Seigaiha pattern was made by hand. To make the clouds we first dipped fallen plant material in ink then used hand-cut stencils to create the individual shapes. Each cloud was then scanned and placed at random to create the effect of an infinitely variable repeating pattern. Our aim with this design was to develop a pattern that revealed itself as you came closer. From across a room, it may look like a subtle fade but in your hand the detail and hand-made nature of the cloud pattern reveal itself!
