Pierre-Auguste Renoir (1841-1919) was a celebrated French painter and a leading figure in the Impressionist movement. He is especially known for his vibrant use of color and masterful depiction of light. Personally I am drawn to the warmth and joy that I sense in nearly all of his paintings.
