Saint Francis preaching to the birds (Ramboux)

Francis of Assisi is one of my favorite saints - and who can really resist a man who wants to share his inner life with the birds, and calls them his sisters? I'm especially fond of Ramboux's (Johann Anton Ramboux, Saint Francis preaching to the birds, 1808) representation of the subject, the bright blue background really seems to elevate the picture.
