St. John the Evangelist COLLECTION (RLS 07)

St. John the Evangelist (D. c. 101) was the youngest of the original twelve Apostles and the only one to live to a ripe old age and die of natural causes. Known also as St. John the Divine and the Beloved Disciple, he wrote the fourth Gospel, three Epistles, and possibly the Book of Revelations. Generally depicted beardless, he is often accompanied by his attribute, an eagle, which symbolizes the soaring quality of his prose and his visionary Christology. + Feast: December 27 + For a short bio and list of patronages, see: catholicsaints.info/saint-john-the-apostle/ + St. John shares a palette with the other ‘Red Letter Saints’.
