St. Thomas the Apostle COLLECTION (JMAS 12)

St. Thomas the Apostle, also called Didymus (the "twin"), was one of the Twelve Apostles of Jesus Christ according to the New Testament. After initially doubting the Resurrection until he touched Christ's wounds for himself, St. Thomas went on to evangelize Parthia, Persia, and India with missionary zeal. Here, he holds a spear. According to tradition, St. Thomas was stabbed to death with a spear c.72 while praying on a hill in Mylapur, India. He was buried nearby. + Feast: July 3
