Towards the top of this handy little list keeper, after the encouraging Bible verse, you will find a space to write your big 4-5 spoon task. What is a 4-5 spoon task? So glad you asked! It is a task that seems way too big to do in one sitting or in one day. Maybe that is laundry for you or cleaning the living room, or maybe you’re an ambitious spoonie who wants to launch a new product (like someone else we know lol). Now you may be wondering about what these spoon rankings are all about. These are tasks you rate by energy level, 1 being the lowest energy-ranked spoon, while 5 is the highest energy-ranked spoon. This list helps you take that big task and break it down into smaller, bite-sized pieces. For example, laundry: some days it might be pretty manageable, so you’d rank it at a 2 or 3-level spoon task, while other days it might feel overwhelming to do in one sitting, so for now it’s a 4 or 5-level spoon task, depending on your energy and ability levels. So, you would write in Laundry at the top of the list, in the “Spoon Goal” section. Now let's break it down into bite-sized pieces: Gather Laundry – maybe this is a 4-spoon task cause you need help to lift your heavy bag (or is it just mine that is overflowing?) Sort Laundry – maybe this is a 2-spoon task cause you can do that sitting down Load Laundry – maybe this is a 1-spoon task cause you just dump the basket in Dry Laundry – 1-spoon Sort Clean Laundry – 2-spoons Put away Laundry – 4-spoons you might even put some of it away over the course of the week, cause all that bending and twisting can be wearing.
