Editions MONTPARNASSE 2000 T Shirt

Established in Paris (France) as a music label started by André Farry with the assistance of Louis Delacour (aka Pépé Luiz). Before his musical career André Farry owned clubs, cabarets and restaurants in Paris. The label finally got founded in 1968. André Farry was running the label more as a financial adventure than really being a fan of the music. Delacour soon founded his own library label, the also legendary Neuilly. After the first releases of "Musique pour..." they signed the young Janko Nilovic for ten records with a contract that assured him the possibility to do whatever he wanted. In the beginning the records were limited to 1000 copies. SACEM mechanical rights were just available for such quantities. 500 copies were distributed to TV stations and radios, 500 were distributed later. Sometimes there are two different jackets for the same release. Farry tried to keep the working standard as high as possible. Like Nilovic said, it was never a problem to bring 40 musicians in the studio. He just served them champagne and payed for the work. This was one of the reasons that next to Nilovic other great musicians like Camille Sauvage, Jean-Jacques Perrey or Yan Tregger or Piero Umiliani liked to release on the legendary label. The label was active till the early eighties.
