Emile-Allain Séguy was a popular French designer throughout the Art Deco and Art Nouveau movements of the 1920s. The first pattern is made up of alternating semi-abstract butterflies, colored with black and shades of brown, over an olive green background with green and black vertical stripes. The second design is made up of alternating semi-abstract, close-winged butterflies, colored with blue, black, red, cream, and yellow, on an olive-green ground. The third design is made up of a vertical strip of alternating semi-abstract, close-winged butterflies, colored with black, blue, cream, green, and shades of brown, on a green ground. The fourth design is made up of semi-abstract butterflies executed with shades of yellow, olive green, blue, and black, over a dark blue ground.
