The Aintwrights greeting card's dysfunctional family idea originated with the concept of a card no one would dare send to their own dysfunctional family member, but it sure would be cathartic to imagine sharing amongst fellow survivors and compadres! The Aintwrights (because "they just ain't right") illustrates a composite of flawed families we've known throughout the years. Dark humor abounds in The Aintwrights’ world! Each card’s cover reflects The Aintwrights as they endeavor to be viewed by the outside world: one big, happy family. Open the card to be surprised by the contrasting, off-kilter, uncomfortable but highly relatable (and sardonic) reality of their real family lives. Spotlight on hidden taboos! Peeking under the hood, every family is uniquely dysfunctional. As part of the cathartic value, The Aintwrights reassures us we're (hopefully) not as dark, broken and ridiculous as they are…or, maybe we just disguise it well.
