Chickadee Gardens

Chickadee Gardens is our two-acre garden and farm in Saint Helens, Oregon, just outside of Portland. Started in 2016, we have created our dream garden from a blank slate and marvel at the beauty and wildlife we are now surrounded with. Our focus is native plantings but we also love ornamental gardening. We have a rather large veggie patch as well as a small orchard, berries, chickens and a turkey named Sweet Pea. Sustainable gardening is our goal. Changes occur regularly in the design of the garden but the focus remains: this garden is for the chickadees (and bees, and bugs, and husband, and cats, and...). I photograph our ever-changing private garden weekly, as well as the world-class garden at Joy Creek Nursery where I work. My work has been in the Hardy Plant Society of Oregon's regular newsletter, Pacific Horticulture magazine, Garden Design magazine (online), as well daily photos on our Facebook page at Joy Creek Nursery. Our garden has been featured in several magazines such as Flea Market Gardening and Small Gardens magazine. I am part of a fantastic international Garden Blogger's group and have also traveled to some pretty amazing locales in this wonderful world, photographing gardens as I go.
