Building on a dream, promoting Irish cultural, and fostering community have long been at the core of San Francisco's first Irish Cultural Center. Since the early days of San Francisco with its Gold Rush fever and busy commerce ports, the entrepreneurial and enterprising energy of the Irish can been found at every turn of historical milestones. Playing an integral role in building the city, the Irish also thrive at building community. Building on the traditions of early Irish settlers, they created an official cultural center which opened its doors in the mid 70s in its current location in the Outer Sunset. In 2022, the Irish Center is working to secure a funds to recreate this center with the future in mind.
