Dermot is a Minneapolis music project by Michael Rowland. Combining poppy hooks influenced by his life-long love of harmony and doo-wop with heavy metal guitars, Michael Rowland writes songs for Dermot that lift the listener to heaven or drag them to the depths of darkness. But each record is a soulful and fulfilling experience. 
 In 2013, Rowland released “Pilot ”which features multiple radio-ready tunes like "No Through Road," "Another World," and "In My Mind." The entire album was a tribute and preparation for the loss of Dermot Rowland, Michael’s hero and a source of inspiration. After working at Flowers Studio with Ed Ackerson in 2013, Michael began to develop and grow as a songwriter and found his own voice. 
 Shortly after that release, Michael gathered an awesome band of musicians to go back to Flowers Studio and complete an EP of pop-rock and sunshine titled "Drink Some Water” If We Had Never Met” is a #1 Hit Record that should have been. 
 After a smattering of singles, Michael is back and better than ever. On November 18th, 2022 the album "Coffee Music" will be released. It's a sequel to "Drink Some Water” and features some incredibly powerful, personal tracks and amazing production from Flowers Studio and Ackerson's hand-selected protege Kris Johnson. 
 Coffee Music is sequenced to feel like Rowland does after he drinks an excessive amount of caffeine. First, a burst of optimism and excitement that quickly descends into anxiety before finally hitting stability and making a resolution to change for the better.
