"Helen Mates" was a mainstay Myrtle Beach ladies' clothing shop catering to the most discriminating tastes. Established in 1947 and continuing until 1970, Helen Mates, along with her husband Walter, sold the latest in women's apparel from elegant gowns to resort wear to Villager- the Mid Century's popular teen and college fashion line. They also carried all types of accessories, shoes and even luggage.
