Why did I call this ‘Just Another Old Guy’? Simple. Old guys are invisible. We’re ignored, turned away from, forgotten. ‘Just Another Old Guy’ (JAOG, which isn’t very pronounceable), recognizes our invisibility even though we’ve forgotten more than most young people claim to know. Looking back. We have the best memories. The best movies. The best cars. The best sex symbols. The best music. The best toys. And we also had some of the worst. The worst sitcoms. The worst video games. The worst politics. Now, as we fade into wallpaper, we can see that invisibility can have benefits. We don’t get carded anymore. We don’t usually have to pay cover charges. And it makes shoplifting much less risky (though I advise against it since your storage unit is already full). So, stop running away and pretending you’re not a lot closer to the casket than you are to the womb. Own your old age! Live it! Be proud of being Just Another Old Guy.
