South Island Te Waka-a-Maui

A nature lover all my life....a photographer from age 12. Early inspirations from cowboy movies at the Saturday matinees. Often shot in California's Sierra Nevada mountains, these horse operas were the vehicle for some of the world's greatest landscape photographers.They moved me to seek out similar scenes on our boyhood adventures. Years later Bruce Brown's "The Endless Summer" would widen our horizons. Since I've settled in Hawaii the majority of my images have been of these islands but last year we discovered another photographer's paradise. The Bavarian Alps. The previous year we discovered the equally beautiful light of New Zealand's Southern Alps.
