I am vegan, and an abolitionist animal rights activist. I believe ALL oppression is wrong, be the victims human or nonhuman. If the human species is to truly be "civilized" or "evolved," we must abolish all forms of exploitation and slaughter, including the exploitation and slaughter of nonhuman animals. Many people were horrified at what Michael Vick did, but then sat down later to eat the flesh from a slaughtered being. There is no difference from what Michael Vick did, and the animal exploitation/slaughter industries. Both are immoral and unjust, the oppressors and victims with different faces. If people take their ethics seriously, they will put a stop to their moral schizophrenia and extend their compassion to all sentient beings (not just the "cute" ones) and go vegan. I enjoy reading, and I write, do artwork, and create videos and design t-shirts that reflect my support of animal rights.
