Label: watzón www.watzonlife.com established: 01.01.2009 City: Watsonville The Origins: The term, "watson" has beginnings somewhere in the Forties, coined by Pachucos, when zoot suits were all the rage and a new generation of Californians and slang emerged. "watzón" is our brand name due to it's Spanglish spelling and sentimentality of local hometownship - homies. We at watzón, picked a name that expresses what we think to be a unique spelling for simplicity's sake and also to refrain from any gang affiliations. The majestic Mount Madonna watches over Watsonville, which sits cradled by rolling hills and the wide Pacific ocean. Watsonville is rich with culture and history. Before its founding, it was a patch of land owned by Spaniards, near Pajaro. Later in the is same region, there grew a Chinatown and a Japantown. Some of the first migrants that farmed here were Japanese. Mexican and Portuguese, Irish and German all contributed to the wealth of the agricultural industry that flourishes here. Croatians and Danish bought land and owned many businesses. watzón's goal is to be a support hub for local independent businesses and to encourage green industry in order to continue to make Watsonville a sustainable and habitable city for the future and our children. The term, "watzón" is a registered trademark as is any design using the term, and only watzón® products may be sold through the owners of this mark.
